Creative Comics 8/3-7 Week 7

Drawing Classes

If you have an interest in comic books, creating character driven stories and like to draw, this class is for you! Whether you love Super-heroes, Sci-fi, Manga, Fantasy or the Sunday Funnies, the structure within is all the same. Students will learn about storytelling and pacing, page layout, character design, drawing and composing for comics, simple perspective, inking techniques and some tips on lettering their comics. A personal sketchbook is recommended. 

Color, Color, and More Color! 8/3-7 Week 7

Drawing

This class focuses on exploring and learning about color while creating two dimensional work. Students will experiment with how color works across a variety of materials – sometimes using them on their own or combining them in creative ways. Projects will range from small to medium works, with at least one larger piece that brings everything together.

3-Dimensional Art 8/10-14 Week 8

Drawing

Students will create 3-dimensional projects using a variety of materials. We will be creating clay sculptures, building with wooden shapes, making paper mache creatures, experimenting with fibers, constructing buildings from cardboard – and more!

Character Creation 7/27-31 Week 6

Drawing Classes

Do you want to learn how to make great characters for animation, comics, picture books, games and fantasy? Learn everything you need to know to bring the characters you imagine to life. We will use expression, color, shape, movement and design and discuss making costumes and clothing that work. Students will learn the standards used by animators and artists to create several characters. This will be a fun experience for those that like to draw and students will also get to build a model of one of their characters. A personal sketchbook is recommended.

Art Station 6/29-7/2 Week 2

Decorative Arts

Draw, paint, and collage what you choose with the support of the teacher and classmates.  Air dry clay and textile materials will also be available. Learn how to enjoy your process and grow as an artist. Develop your skills, and maybe make a friend along the way.
