Painting Or Drawing The Portrait

Drawing

Become more confident as a portraitist and capture the personality of your subject in your art. Students already confident in a medium other than graphite pencil (e.g. oil, acrylic, pastels, etc.) should feel free to bring them to class. Otherwise, prepare to draw with pencil and bring a 9 x12 sketch pad, a few soft pencils (anything from 6B to 9B), and, preferably, a kneaded eraser.

Paint from Your Experiences and Snapshots

Painting Classes

Watercolor is especially good at documenting bright summer, vacation, and tropical surroundings! It starts in an orderly process, and develops with your own flourishes. Watch, follow and learn new methods. Color is transparent and can be layered, calligraphic brush work and use of white space add accents for visuals you notice.

Follow the Leader – Contemporary Painting

Painting Classes

The way we paint can be as charming and captivating as What we paint. When we use art materials, we connect the mind, and the heart or spirit, through the hand, to expression. And what we make can surprise us! When you watch the demo warm-up exercises you will learn to use unique colors, to compose, and to layer to activate a surface. Paint from your travel experiences and summer photos, or from my still life set-up, as a way to develop your artistic vision.
