Autumn Celebration of Crafts Around the World

Celebrate autumn traditions from around the world through art, stories, and cultural exploration. Young artists will create multimedia projects inspired by festivals such as China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Mexico’s Day of the Dead, India’s Diwali, Spain’s La Mercè, and more while expanding their understanding of our diverse global community.
Painting with Pastels

Pastels offer it all: rich color, direct mark making, control, a forgiving process for correcting, and immediate gratification! The workshop starts with an explanation of what to look for in materials. Then, you’ll get a feel for how pastels work with a simple and colorful reference. Please see online description for details. Art & Literature Series: Classic & Modern Fairytales

Explore classic and modern fairy tales, myths, and animal stories through creative art projects. Children will paint, draw, sculpt, and create using a variety of materials while bringing beloved stories such as Stellaluna, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White to life. Imagination and artistic choice are encouraged every step of the way! Please note: No class 10/12
Contemporary Painting

Explore contemporary painting through color, brushwork, composition, and creative problem-solving in this all-levels class. Working from personal photos, landscapes, or still life setups, students will develop their own artistic style through guided instruction, practice, and supportive group critiques. Please note: NO class 10/12.
Beaded Tree of Life Workshop

Create a beautiful Beaded Tree of Life artwork while learning basic wire and beading techniques in a relaxed, creative setting. Participants will use wire and natural stone beads to design a unique piece that encourages self-expression, mindfulness, and artistic connection.
Try Your Hand At Painting & Drawing Workshop: Session A

This workshop is geared towards the absolute adult beginner. Learn the basics of painting and drawing in a supportive, judgement-free session. Acrylic Painting

Do you have a bit of background in drawing and/or painting, but want to move beyond
your current level? This class will help. We’ll cover various approaches to developing
compositions, become more aware of tonal values and make color a friend. We’ll employ
a host of technical tips, as well as allow time for critiques
The Art of Magical Beings: Fall Fairies and Fantastic Beasts from the World of Harry Potter

Explore the magical world of fairies, elves, and fantastical creatures inspired by folklore and the Harry Potter series. Using natural materials and mixed-media techniques, young artists will create fairy houses, dragons, phoenixes, wizard wands, potions, and more while experimenting with sculpture, painting, and clay.
Painting Or Drawing The Portrait

Become more confident as a portraitist and capture the personality of your subject in your art. Students already confident in a medium other than graphite pencil (e.g. oil, acrylic, pastels, etc.) should feel free to bring them to class. Otherwise, prepare to draw with pencil and bring a 9 x12 sketch pad, a few soft pencils (anything from 6B to 9B), and, preferably, a kneaded eraser.

Discover the beauty of oil and acrylic painting while learning color mixing, values, composition, texture, edges, and essential painting techniques. Receive demonstrations, handouts, class critiques, and individualized instruction. Bring a printed 8" × 10" (or larger) photo reference or use one provided by the instructor.
